Vintage Anti-Yellow test 1

Description

I had heard of a trick to removing the yellowing that is common on vintage toys, especially those that are white. I used a Stormtrooper Luke, that had some pretty yellow limbs. I had heard of some people having success with plain 3% Hydrogen Peroxide that you can get over the counter at any grocery store. So, I tried it first. I actually got some decent results from that and think if something has some slight yellowing, this will do the trick. I ordered some food grade, 29% Hydrogen Peroxide (got it on ebay, 1 liter was 13.00) and it really did the trick. My understanding is the best results are to leave the figure(s) in the Hydrogen Peroxide in a glass container with something covering the lid in direct sunlight for 24 hours. Naturally my luck would be that each time I went to do this, it was raining so I left him in longer than that. I'm likely to try again in the spring with some warmer, clearer weather. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with it and will certainly have no reservations of doing it for many more toys in the future.
